Who we are
Chesed Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity that helps people with food, housing, and guidance. You can reach us any time at admin@chesedfoundation.org or by phone at any of the numbers listed in the footer of this site.
What we collect
- Contact form: when you send us a message, we collect the name, phone number, email address, and description of your need that you choose to give us.
- Phone calls: when you call one of our lines, our receptionist collects the information needed to help you (your name, contact details, what you need, and your general area). Calls may be recorded so our team can review your request accurately and follow up.
- Website chat: messages you type into the chat assistant are used to answer you and to route your request to our team.
- Location (optional): if you tap “Show my local weather” and allow location access, your browser shares your approximate coordinates only to fetch a local forecast. We do not store your location.
- Browser storage: the public site uses a small amount of local browser storage for conveniences (for example, remembering that you dismissed a popup). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers.
How we use it
- To respond to your request and coordinate the help, volunteering, donation, or partnership you asked about.
- To keep an internal record of requests so our team can follow up and serve people well.
- To send our own staff alerts (for example, a text message to our team when a new request arrives).
What we never do
- We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- We never ask for payment details, bank information, or Social Security numbers through this website.
- We do not show ads and do not share your information with advertisers.
Who we share it with
Your information is seen by our own team and by the service providers that make our operations run (for example, our telephone and text-messaging provider). These providers process information on our behalf. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Donor privacy
Information about donors and gifts is kept confidential, used only to process and acknowledge your gift, and is never sold or shared with other organizations for their fundraising.
Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Do Not Track
We do not track visitors across other websites, so the site behaves the same whether or not your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal.
Your choices
You may ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you. Email admin@chesedfoundation.org and we will honor your request.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
