Chesed Foundation was born in 2025 with one conviction: that chesed — God’s lovingkindness — is meant to be given to the world, not just spoken about.
Since our first day, we have worked constantly to build a foundation that lasts — stabilizing our future so we can keep helping others, and establishing our properties as hubs of operation for this kindness. Every meal served, every home restored, and every hand held stands on ground built to hold it for years to come.
And our door is open to everyone: we welcome and serve people of every faith, every level of observance, and every walk of life. Kindness has no membership.
That conviction has already grown into something you can reach today: a free library of help and heritage guides we keep for anyone, and four phone lines across America that are answered day and night.

Chesed Foundation is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes. We serve the community as a whole — every background, every neighborhood, no membership and no exceptions — and no part of our income or assets ever benefits any officer, director, or private individual. Every dollar we raise and every property we hold exists to carry out that charitable mission.
We are a proudly American foundation, and we believe with a full heart that God’s hand rests on this country — and on the land of Israel — and that loving both is part of who we are.
America was built by people of faith. Its founders wrote that every human being is “endowed by their Creator” with the rights to life and liberty; its money carries the words “In God We Trust”; its pledge calls it “one nation under God.” A country that opens its doors to the stranger, feeds the hungry, and lets every family worship freely is a country doing God’s work — and that is the America we love and serve, from our four doors in California, Florida, and Nevada.
And the same God who watches over America made an ancient promise about Israel: “I will bless those who bless you” (Genesis 12:3). For thousands of years the Jewish people have carried their love of the Holy Land through every exile, and in our own time they have come home to it — a story we tell on our heritage pages. When America stands as a friend of Israel, we believe both nations stand under the same blessing.

Most people run away from fire, from danger, from sickness. A few run toward it — every day, on every shift, for people they have never met. Firefighters. Police officers. Doctors and nurses. Judges and lawyers who keep justice standing. This section is our thank-you: when a family in one of these callings is going through a hard season, our door is open the same as it is for any neighbor in crisis. And when we can, we love finding ways to show up for the crews and offices that carry so much for the rest of us.
When everyone else is running out, you are running in. You carry people down ladders, cut families out of crushed cars, and stand between whole neighborhoods and the flame — then you wash the smoke off and do it again tomorrow. We see it, and we do not take it for granted.
When a firefighter’s family hits a hard season — housing trouble, an empty pantry, a child who needs guidance — our door is open, the same as it is for any neighbor in need. And a couple of times a year, we love showing up for the whole crew — a hot meal delivered to the station, or stocked shelves when the department budget runs thin at month’s end. If your family is going through it, or your station could use a boost, call any of our lines.
And this brotherhood crosses the ocean: American and Israeli fire crews share the same creed — when the alarm sounds, everyone is your neighbor. Two nations, one ladder, one covenant of courage.
Every morning you pin on a badge and make a quiet promise: to stand between your neighbors and harm, whatever it costs. You answer the calls no one else wants to answer, at hours no one else wants to be awake, and your families hold their breath until you come home. Thank you — from every family that sleeps soundly because you don’t.
When an officer’s family is going through it — a tight month, a crisis at home — the same open door is yours: our food, housing, and guidance programs, offered with honor and total discretion. And from time to time, we love finding ways to show up for a whole precinct or shift, just to say thank you. You spend your life serving; being served is not a weakness.
Israel’s officers guard their communities the same way — synagogues, schools, and streets — and both nations know the true price of keeping people safe. Guardians understand guardians; that bond needs no translation.
You hold the hands of strangers at 3 AM. You carry other people’s worst days home in your heart, work through holidays, and give your strength away twelve hours at a time. Our tradition teaches that “whoever saves a single life is considered to have saved an entire world” (Mishnah Sanhedrin 4:5) — by that measure, you have saved worlds beyond counting.
Let us return a little of that kindness. When a medical family is stretched to its edge, or a healer’s own house is the one in crisis, our housing help and guidance is there. And every so often, we love bringing a warm meal to a night-shift crew, just to say we see you. Tell us what your team needs.
Healing is the deepest bridge between America and Israel: American hospitals train Israeli doctors, Israeli medics teach American rescue teams, and in both lands the emergency room asks only one question — how can we help? That is God’s own question, asked in scrubs.
Not every hero wears a uniform — some wear a robe, and some carry a worn briefcase into court for a client who cannot pay. You spend your days weighing other people’s troubles, defending the voiceless, and holding the line that keeps a society decent: that every person — rich or poor, strong or weak — stands equal before the law. That burden is heavier than most people ever see, and we thank you for carrying it.
When a family of the law is walking through its own hard chapter, our door is open — the same honor, the same discretion. And now and then, we love bringing a meal to court staff or a legal-aid team stretched thin after a punishing stretch, just to say thank you.
And here the bond between America and Israel runs deepest of all, for both nations built their courts on the same commandment, given at Sinai and carried across the ocean: “Justice, justice shall you pursue” (Deuteronomy 16:20). The scales in an American courtroom and an Israeli courtroom hang from the same ancient beam — the belief that law is how a nation loves its neighbor.
America and Israel are bound by something deeper than politics: the conviction that every life is sacred and worth running toward. Nowhere is that covenant more alive than in the people who wear the turnout coat, the badge, the scrubs, and the robe. They are the hands with which both nations do God’s work — and the same hands our own gold emblem holds up: an open hand of giving, under the crown, under the Star.

We meticulously identify and acquire derelict or underutilized properties across Los Angeles County, specifically targeting opportunities to create low-income housing. We then collaborate with a network of Los Angeles’s best contractors, architects, and skilled tradespeople to meticulously renovate and develop these properties.
Our focus is on transforming them into safe, modern, and energy-efficient homes that are genuinely affordable for individuals and families in need. We prioritize sustainable practices and creating environments that truly feel like home. Every home we restore becomes another place where a family can close the door at night and begin again.
This work is charitable, not commercial: every property in this program is dedicated to serving lower-income individuals and families, open to the whole community without regard to background, and never operated for private profit. Our goal is housing that stays genuinely affordable for the people who need it most, for the long term.

Our “Feed the Hungry” program operates through a network of dedicated volunteers who prepare and distribute meals at consistent locations within communities most impacted by food insecurity.
For “Direct Assistance,” our outreach teams actively engage with individuals on the streets, in shelters, and at community centers, assessing needs and providing immediate relief and connecting them to ongoing support systems. Our assistance is tailored to individual needs, fostering independence and long-term stability. Behind every meal is a simple belief: no one in our communities should go to bed hungry.
